About Joanne

The mother of three daughters, Joanne King was born and raised in New York. She received her BA in English from the University of South Florida and returned to New York where she suffered a spinal cord injury that left her temporarily paralyzed. She has kept individual journals for each of her three daughters for years, which have been part of the inspiration behind her first book, Answers and Answers CD-ROM. Currently she lives in Florida with her husband Michael and their daughters.

Out of Joanne King’s heart comes Answers, a book from parents to their children. Answers emphasizes that life is short and that it’s never too early to let your children know how much you love them. Based on the author’s own experience with how little control we have over our lives, this book prompts parents to write down details about themselves for their children as well as advice on love and relationships, religion and spirituality, and the difficult task of growing up.

Learning to walk again after a temporary paralysis, Joanne King was scheduled to be near the World Trade Center when the terrorist attacks occurred. Haunted by frailty of life, King was determined that her children and all children should have permanent access to their parent's love and advice. She created Answers as a communication forum between parents and children. Encouraging parents not to take their relationships with their children for granted, Answers offers an opportunity to pass along valuable information that many may have trouble conveying verbally.

Joanne King’s hope is that every child will know how their parents feel about them and have easy access to their words of wisdom and love. She says, "Take Time Today for All Your Children's Tomorrows!"
